The Trust was formed 30 years ago to co-ordinate and assist local groups in looking after the needs of the elderly, handicapped and those less fortunate within our Community. The aim is to help and advise both Groups and individuals. In today's fast moving environment concern for those in need often passes unnoticed and it is the purpose of our Group to take up wherever possible, suitable causes within the areas served – the catchment area of South Wolds School – and provide relief and respite for the carers of the disadvantaged amongst us.
The Trust is supported by the Parish Council and many other organisations within the community and, whilst we are prepared to consider a number of forms of help, our main services consist of the provision of the KEYWORTH COMMUNITY BUS which provides valuable help to the community by providing transport to day centres and shopping trips for the over-60s. Without the service many would be housebound and unable to shop for themselves and also the TUESDAY CLUB DAY CENTRE for the elderly and handicapped, providing day care for our members and much needed respite for their carers.
The Trust operates two modern, wheelchair-adapted minibuses; a Mercedes Sprinter and a Fiat Ducato, one has 12 seats and one has 16 seats. The vehicles are also available for group hire. The Trust is always looking for volunteers to drive the bus or to help in other services. If you would like to help please contact the Bus Manager Tony Fowler who can be contacted on 0115 937 3980 .
